As part of our quality assurance team, RSAC seeks a QA Automation Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions for our web & mobile applications and services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CI/CD processes, API testing tools like Postman, web automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, and familiarity with project management tools like Jira, test case management tools like TestRail and cloud platforms like Azure. Additionally, experience with component testing frameworks like Storybook is highly valued. They will work closely with the development team to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products through automated testing processes. 

In this role you will: 

  • Develop and Maintain Automated Test Suites: Create and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Appium or Selenium for web and mobile applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage. 

  • Implement API Testing: Utilize tools like Postman to design and execute API tests, ensuring the reliability and performance of our services. 

  • Integrate Tests into CI/CD Pipelines: Work with the development team to incorporate automated tests into continuous integration and deployment workflows, leveraging Azure DevOps or similar platforms to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery. 

  • Perform Component Testing: Use Storybook or similar tools to test individual UI components, ensuring their functionality and visual consistency across different states and scenarios. 

  • Perform Performance Testing: Design and execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks and ensure optimal application performance under various conditions. 

  • Collaborate on Test Planning: Work with the QA Lead and development team to create comprehensive test plans based on user stories and specifications, using Jira for project tracking and management. 

  • Implement and Maintain Testing Tools: Select, implement, and maintain appropriate testing tools and frameworks to support the QA process, including integration with Azure cloud services where applicable. 

  • Report and Track Defects: Efficiently document and track defects using Jira or other established bug tracking systems, ensuring clear communication with the development team. 

  • Contribute to Security Testing: Assist in basic security testing processes and support the triage of security-related issues when needed, particularly in cloud-based environments. 

  • Support UI/UX Testing: Collaborate with designers to ensure UI components meet design specifications, potentially referencing Figma designs for visual accuracy. 

Your profile: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 

  • Excellent Written Communication Skills: Effective written communication skills are paramount in the realm of software development. You excel in articulating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. You write clear test cases and bug reports.  

  • Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for test automation (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java). 

  • Automation Framework Experience: Hands-on experience with web automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. 

  • Component Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with component testing frameworks like Storybook for isolated UI component testing. 

  • API Testing Proficiency: Strong knowledge of API testing concepts and experience with tools like Postman or SoapUI. 

  • CI/CD Knowledge: Familiarity with CI/CD processes and experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly within Azure DevOps or similar environments. 

  • Cloud Platform Experience: Working knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, and understanding of how to leverage cloud services for testing and deployment. 

  • Performance Testing Skills: Experience with performance testing concepts and tools, including those applicable to cloud-based applications. 

  • Basic Security Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with basic security testing concepts is a plus, especially in relation to cloud security best practices. 

  • UI/UX Tool Familiarity: Experience with design tools like Figma is a plus, as it can aid in ensuring visual accuracy of UI components during testing.
